Graduation cake with sugar paste

Although very late, I am posting the Nutella graduation cake with sugar paste topping that my sister made for her boyfriend, and to which my mother and I have given both technical and moral support. My sister designed the cake and for 2 weeks, she studied the tutorials to be able to make various subjects in sugar paste, from the touch to the parchment to the ladybug and then assemble everything and create a small masterpiece;)
Even the choice of the filling was his idea, since my little brother loves Nutella and kinder chocolate he decided to stuff it like this, a bomb of goodness and I won't tell you that he went to find the white chocolate cream he moved seas and mountains to find it but what is not done for love? Method

How to make the graduation cake

First prepare the sponge cake Separate the yolks from the whites and whip the latter into very firm nerve.
Separately, whip the egg yolks with 12 tablespoons of boiling water for a few minutes
Now add the sugar and continue beating with the help of whips
Add the yeast and flour to rain
and finally incorporate the egg whites, mixing the mixture with a wooden spoon.
Pour the final mixture into a greased and floured cake pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °

Bake the sponge cake for about 45 minutes
Once ready, open the oven door and let the cake cool for at least 5 minutes before taking it out of the oven

Turn the sponge cake upside down on a rectangular plate and when it is completely cold, cut it into 3 horizontal layers

Place the first rectangle on the serving dish where we will serve the cake and sprinkle with milk and baileys liqueur, fill with nutella and cover with the pieces of kinder chocolate

Place the second rectangle and exert slight pressure, then wet it with milk and liqueur and fill it with the white chocolate and kinder cream.

Cover with the last rectangle of sponge cake, wet evenly the entire surface of the cake and lightly crush the entire surface to level it as much as possible to distribute the filling evenly.

Whip the cream and glaze the cake completely with it. Put in the fridge

Place the stick of sugar paste on a pastry board sprinkled with powdered sugar and with the help of a rolling pin, roll out a rectangular sheet large enough to cover the whole cake. Still with the help of the rolling pin, lift the layer of sugar paste and cover the cake with it.

Cut out the excess pdz along the edges

Add a little red dye to the advanced pdz and with it create 2 cords that you will intertwine with each other (in order not to risk it breaking, better to create 2 separate cords that then you will go to join directly next to the cake)


Lift the string and place it all around the cake to cover the cut in the base

Now place the decorations you have prepared earlier, attaching them to the surface of your graduation cake by brushing the base with a little water.

And this is the little masterpiece my little sister prepared for her boyfriend to celebrate her graduation.
